Additional facility, 60 jobs planned for Brecksville and Cleveland

Tempcraft Corporation, a subsidiary of Howmet Aerospace, has announced plans to locate a facility in Brecksville and enhance operations in Cleveland to accommodate the company’s growth, with plans to add 60 new positions and retain 240 jobs. The Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) approved the project for tax credit assistance during its Ohio Tax Credit Authority meeting today.
The company, serving the aerospace, defense and gas turbine sectors will add to its tool and die capacity to meet the increased demand for commercial and defense aviation engines.
“Our partners in Ohio have played an integral role in the success of Howmet Aerospace’s Ohio-based manufacturing operations,” Merrick Murphy, the president of engine products at Howmet Aerospace, stated. “We’re very proud of these longstanding relationships that have enabled us to grow and prosper over the past several decades. Howmet Aerospace is grateful for the support of our state, local and regional partners who have been consistent and longstanding advocates for each investment we’ve made in this community.”
While there was competition from non-Ohio locations where Howmet Aerospace has operations, the multi-organization team, including the City of Brecksville, City of Cleveland, ODOD, JobsOhio, and Team NEO, worked with leadership to bring new jobs to region.
“Howmet’s decision to establish the new Tempcraft facility in Brecksville ensures a leading global aviation and aerospace supplier continues its growth in Northeast Ohio,” said JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef. “With a strong Ohio presence, including two Cleveland-area plants and operations in Canton, Barberton, Niles and Chillicothe, Tempcraft’s expansion adds additional capacity to meet customer demand for its world-class engineering solutions.”
The City of Brecksville commented on the impact for its community. “The City of Brecksville is pleased to welcome an exceptional business to our community,” stated Mayor Daryl J. Kingston, City of Brecksville. “Tempcraft will not only strengthen the vitality of Brecksville, but also drive significant economic growth. We are grateful to JobsOhio, ODOD, and Team NEO for their crucial role in making this investment a reality, ensuring lasting prosperity for our community.”
With Howmet Aerospace’s deep-rooted manufacturing legacy in Ohio, which dates to the early 20th century, this investment builds on their ongoing success in the region.
“The aerospace industry is a remarkable $2 billion plus cluster in the Northeast Ohio Region, and today’s announcement further highlights NEO’s leadership in this key sector,” stated Team NEO Managing Director, Project Management, Walt Good. “Tempcraft’s contribution to mission-critical components serves both the commercial and defense markets, underscoring their vital role in the aerospace industry.”
