Team NEO reaches milestone awarding 200+ grants
Since the JobsOhio Small Business Grant program was created in 2020, Team NEO has led the state to help small businesses grow. Recently the organization reached a milestone of awarding more than 200 grants, representing almost 1,100 new jobs and more than $7 million in grants awarded.
According to the Small Business Administration, small businesses have accounted for approximately 44% of all employment in Ohio in recent years—underscoring the significance of the JobsOhio Small Business Grant program and how Team NEO has strategically embraced this approach to support economic growth.
“The JobsOhio Small Business Grant program has given Northeast Ohio businesses a boost,” said Stephen Caviness, senior director, project management for Team NEO. “It is a unique tool that empowers entrepreneurs to innovate, create jobs, and strengthen our region.”
One recipient explained how the grant made an immediate difference for their business: “Receiving this small business grant gave us the resources we needed to take the next step in our growth,” said Kelley Palone, owner of Summit e-Waste Recycling Solutions. “It allowed us to invest in new equipment and expand our business. Support like this makes a real difference for small businesses like ours.”
