Today, approximately 350 manufacturers and solution providers gathered at Kent State University for the Manufacturing for Electronic Vehicle (EV) Conference, presented by the Smart Manufacturing Cluster of Northeast Ohio<\/a>, facilitated by Team NEO. The conference, done in partnership with BRITE<\/a>, JobsOhio<\/a>, MAGNET<\/a>, JumpStart<\/a>, Kent State University<\/a>, Manufacturing Works<\/a>, the Ohio Aerospace Institute<\/a>, Team NEO, and the Youngstown Business Incubator<\/a>, included discussions facilitated by leading manufacturers and industry experts around how companies can engage in opportunities and with resources in the $400 billion EV supply chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cElectronic Vehicles are the future of transportation, whether on the ground or in the air, and the Northeast Ohio Region \u2013 with its end-to-end supply chain, proximity to key markets, more than 30,000 workers in the transportation manufacturing sector, and multimillion-dollar workforce training initiatives \u2013 is in a unique position to capitalize on this opportunity,\u201d said Team NEO\u2019s Chief Executive Officer Bill Koehler<\/a>. \u201cWith the region\u2019s Manufacturing Blueprint and its Make It Better campaign, our region is well equipped to be a leader in smart manufacturing and the EV supply chain boom.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The conference featured presentations on the current and future state of EV adoption, how Ohio is leaning in to take advantage of the EV movement and a series of success stories from Ohio manufacturers that are pivoting to compete in the supply chain. It also offered panel discussions addressing the required supply chain, the charging infrastructure, lightweighting and power management.
